Supplies can be hard to come by while you travel from place to place. So, when you stumble upon the remains of a merchant wagon overturned and the owners missing, you are eager to pick through the broken crates.

Most of the clothing is too large for you, and the food has spoiled. However, you notice just beyond the road there appears to be an abandoned Gobbo Shield. Any other goblin might question such luck, but as you inspect the shield and see that it’s in good condition, you take it for yourself. There’s no sense wasting good protection.

DETAILS

Epic Armoury’s Gobbo Shield is a light, flat latex shield with wood and steel details. The shield is shaped like a waning crescent moon, featuring a hand painted steel rim, shield boss, and Maltese cross. Detailed brass studs secure the metal to a wood base, textured and painted to look like realistic woodgrain.

HISTORY

• Round wooden style was predominantly used in the early European Middle Ages using light, non-splintering wood such as linden, fir, alder or poplar
• Iron rim was sometimes used as a way to reinforce the shield

All latex-coated shields need a certain degree of maintenance. For this we recommend using maintenance silicone, which can be purchased separately in the ‘Weapon Maintenance & Repair’ section.

‘Larp Inn Weapon Lube – Silicone Spray’ is an easy, spray-on application, 100% pure and acid-free making it safe to apply. We recommend using silicone on a regular basis. It maintains the latex-coat’s flexibility and prevents it from drying out, keeping the product wear and tear resistant.

Store your latex shield flat on its back. Use a simple sheet or towel lining to prevent it from touching a plastic or rubber surface to prevent your weapon from adhering to other products. Keep your shield in a cool, dry environment.
